The owl is a one- or two-person puppet. While flying he can be puppeteered alone and when landed a second puppeteer joins to operate his head. When in flight he can flap his wings and then fold them to land. While flying the owl's head is held in place by four magnets which can then be detached when landed.

I didn't look at other puppets while designing and making the owl as one of the challenges I set myself was to see if I could work out the mechanisms myself.
